President Trump welcomed Nigerian president Muhammadu Buhari to the White House on Monday after a very busy week last week hosting French President Emmanuel Macron and Germany’s Prime Minister Merkel.
The two men held an informal meeting with reporters in the Oval Office followed by a formal press conference in the Rose Garden.
Trump praised the African nation as a “strong democracy in the region” and stressed how important the good relationship between Nigeria and the United States was.
Buhari praised Trump for the healthy economy under his presidency and then said something that Democrats did not want to hear.
“President Trump deserves a great deal of credit for his role in transforming so dramatically the course of events in that region.”
Buhari was referring to the recent meeting of North and South Korea in the DMZ, a historic event that the world watched with baited breath.
None of this would have happened without President Trump’s dealmaking skills and refusal to be bullied by Kim Jong un.
